I’m not sure if there is anything that creates more intimacy with God than having a consistent, heartfelt prayer life. Although it's impossible to live life with our eyes closed or on our knees, prayer is actually an attitude of the heart that continues to acknowledge our absolute dependence on God. A prayerful attitude is not a substitute for regular times of prayer, but an outgrowth of those times. Dependence and trust are countercultural and often difficult to grasp, but prayer is the hallmark of living in constant communion with God.
