Day 231 Zoom Zoom

Restore to me the joy of your salvation..." Psalm 51:12

Learning to drive a stick shift often includes grinding, metallic sounds that are painful to hear--and a more or less patient statement that goes something like, "If it makes that kind of noise, something is wrong." :)

Psalm 51 says that if there's a nagging noise in your walk with God it indicates something is wrong...and if we're in disharmony with God, the joy of his salvation disappears: lack of joy is a grinding sound in our relationship with him.

When everything is working properly in a car, there is a quiet, powerful engine rumble. When everything is harmonious in our walk with God, joy is present. God created us to know him and to enjoy his presence. When we develop habits that help us walk in step with him, we know--and show--the joy of his presence in our lives.

Help Sarah to know the joy of your presence today and to enjoy the wonder of your grace and love! Amen.
